Iconic tunes! ‘Rock & Pop Classics of the 80s and 90s’ set to rock Valletta’s MCC next month
‘Rock & Pop Classics of the 80s and 90s’ will return next month, this time to the historic venue of the Mediterranean Conference Centre on 12th October, for one night only! The Gozo Youth Orchestra and 7SPP, with the support of Festivals Malta, present their latest collaboration, featuring some of the best-loved rock and pop numbers of that period.

The line-up, familiar to past audiences, features The Gozo Youth Orchestra under the baton of musical director Maestro Joseph Grech, along with the Rockin’ Knights Band, led by Marc Galea. A stellar roster of local guest vocalists will once again take the stage, including Dorothy Bezzina, Sarah Bonnici, Jolene Samhan, Dorothy Borg Bonnici, Natassja Chapman, Rachel Grech, Jessica Calleja Magro, and X Factor finalist Amelia Kalabic. Joining them will be Klinsmann, Neville Refalo, and Chris Grech, all renowned talents who have performed in some of the biggest events across Malta and Gozo. Backing vocals will be provided by the 7SPP Choir, directed by Dorothy Bezzina.
The show will feature over 24 classic numbers selected from the works of some of rock and pop’s greatest legends, including Guns N’ Roses, Depeche Mode, Queen, R.E.M., Aerosmith, The Pet Shop Boys, Journey, Europe, Van Halen, The Scorpions, Bon Jovi, The Cranberries, Foreigner, Tina Turner, Madonna, Berlin, U2, Bruce Springsteen, The Verve, Phil Collins, and many others. Once again, the musical scores for this show will be expertly arranged by Mr Daryl McKenzie, whose work on previous performances has been met with widespread praise, ensuring that there will be something for everyone in the diverse fanbase of this event’s audience.

With a total of 100 performers on stage, accompanied by stunning lighting and sound, the night promises unforgettable entertainment.
