Rolling through the city!

The Three Cities are pretty much paradise if you ask me... there’s something about the way the sunlight hits the bastions and the glistening surface of the sea directly beneath the fortified walls that just takes your breath away.

The Three Cities are at the top of Malta’s ‘must see’ places to visit; primarily because this is one of the oldest inhabited parts of Malta, as well as the location that was chosen by the Order of the Knights of St John as their headquarters upon their arrival in Malta. With so much history and so much to see, how could you ever discover all there is to know about this fascinating place if you have only allocated one day to the area?

We've discovered just the thing!

Finding all the hidden gems, beautiful architecture and quaint medieval streets when visiting a new city is difficult, but the Rolling Geeks Tours have figured it all out so you don’t have to! The process is easy, the experience is so much fun and the results are magical, all highlights of The Three Cities and much more are revealed in an unmissable two and a half hour adventure. But how?

Simple…

A fleet of 10 fully electric cars, specifically chosen for their silent engines, zero-emission, compact bodies and fun-filled features; scurry through the old streets of Birgu, Isla and Bormla, even venturing off to Kalkara and Smart City, to reveal Malta’s authentic beauty and history in a completely original way.

The process is simple; book yourself a Rolling Geek, head to Birgu waterfront for a briefing with the friendly staff at the office, hop into a car and off you go! The cars can carry up to four passengers at a time, but the 10 vehicles available make corporate or group activities a brilliant option too!

If you're sceptical about losing your way, have no worries! A GPS guides you along a pre-determined route and the smart system on board is equipped with an audio guide available in eight languages, (English, German, Italian, French, Dutch, Mandarin, Spanish and Russian), supplying you with plenty of information on its historical and cultural worth, amazing! The vigilant team keep an eye on you from the office, ready to assist if necessary, while you take in the sights at your own pace. There is also ample time to stop for photos or a drink at one of the numerous open-air cafes with their gorgeous views.

The most fascinating thing about the Rolling Geeks’ concept is that it capitalises on the general idea of a ‘tour’ and makes it fun, easy and comfortable… not to mention exciting. As a local who loves the area and visits frequently, my experience of the tour was eye-opening. I discovered a few quirky places that I didn't know about, saw things from a completely new angle and enjoyed one of Malta’s most historically important areas, all in two and a half hours. If that’s not luxury, I really don’t know what is!

The tour is suitable for all ages, although the driver has to be 21 and hold a driver’s licence. The selfie feature in the cars add to the fun and makes for a nice souvenir of the tour, combined with all the great memories of the day you rolled with the Geeks!
