All Gozitans who frequently commute between the two sister islands would agree that it’s practically impossible to find a parking space close to the Mgarr Harbour in the morning…

But this new initiative, implemented by the Ministry of Gozo, is looking to solve that very problem!

Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri announced the commencement of a Park & Ride shuttle service taking commuters from the Xewkija Heliport to the Mgarr Harbour and back.

Minister Camilleri highlighted that the service will operate every 10 minutes from 5am to 8am and every 30 minutes from 3pm to 6pm.

The service will also be completely free and the vehicles used to transport commuters will be 100% electric.

“Those who use the Park & Ride service can park their car at Triq il-Kanal and Triq il-Bwier and catch one of the six electric buses which go to the harbour,” the Gozo Minister wrote on social media.

Will you be using the Park and Ride?
