Giants in Malta? The Maltese islands and its myths featured on popular Youtube mystery channel
The Why Files is a well-loved channel, followed by close to 4 million subscribers

Francesca Vella

Maltese history has taken centre stage in an episode of the American Youtube channel ‘The Why Files’, hosted by the former MTV presenter AJ Gentile. Alongside the talking goldfish Hecklefish, the host looks at any evidence that exists behind the legends he explores.

Malta’s spot on the channel titled ‘Giants of Malta’ speaks of alleged giants that built the Ġgantija Temples. Throughout the episode, AJ Gentile talks about the Megalithic temples and the Hypogeum, which he mentions were featured in early editions of the National Geographic magazine.

Some legends surrounding the temples claim that skulls found underground resembled elongated alien-like skulls, and even that some disappearances occurred during the excavation under Hal Tarxien.

Have you heard of any legends related to the Megalithic temples?
