Gharb streets decorated in colourful kites ahead of long-awaited festival
The ideal backdrop for an Instagram shot!

A walk through Gharb this week is bound to put you in high spirits, as preparations for this weekend’s International Kite & Wind Festival have seen dozens, if not hundreds, of colourful kites take over the village streets.

The kites used, boasting a range of whacky and colourful designs, hang high above the roads, giving pedestrians some well-needed shade.

The International Kite & Wind Festival will be returning for its fifth edition on 15th and 16th October in San Dimitri, Gharb.

Visitors can expect to witness a number of internationally renowned kite flyers, putting up a display like no other.

The festival will also be hosting a kite making workshop and an exhibition about the culture and history of kite-flying around the world.
