Health Minister Chris Fearne had hinted that standing events could be allowed after 15th August.
Malta’s partygoers seem to be ready for a rapid return to normality as a series of standing parties set to take place towards the second half of August have sold out within hours.
Most recently, the event Lejl Ħaj was announced – a party set to take place at Liquid Club on 28th August. Having launched the Facebook event on 24th July, it only took the organisers a few days to announce that all tickets were sold out.
But it won’t be plain sailing! The party’s organisers will be subjecting guests to a number of strict regulations. First, a maximum of 100 guests will be allowed inside the club, no tickets will be sold at the door, guests will have to present a valid vaccine certificate and ID card at the door, no one will be allowed inside after 9:30pm, and all partygoers will be subjected to temperature checks at the door.
Despite the party plans, there is still no confirmation from the country’s health authorities that standing events will definitely be permitted by mid-August.
During a press conference last July, Health Minister Chris Fearne had hinted that standing events could be allowed after the Santa Marija feast on 15th August.
Days after said announcement, local party organisers behind Glitch Festival announced a string of parties taking place throughout August. As it stands, five of seven parties have been sold out – some of them within hours.
Similarly to Lejl Ħaj, all Glitch Club Series parties will be limited to 100 people and will require guests to present a valid vaccine certificate and ID upon entry.
Currently, events are being capped at 150 guests, a number which is set to increase to 200 tomorrow, 2nd August. Events can also only be organised if guests are seated and present a valid vaccine certificate upon entry.
