Traveling to Malta with a valid vaccine certificate means that you won’t have to quarantine upon arrival.
It’s just gotten easier for Maltese expats living in Australia to return to their home country!
During an episode of talk show Pjazza, aired yesterday evening, Health Minister Chris Fearne announced that as of tomorrow 13th August Malta will start accepting Australian COVID-19 vaccine certificates.

Initially, Malta only accepted vaccine certificates from the remaining 26 EU member states, however it has now extended its certificate recognition to just under 20 additional countries.
These include Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, Vatican City, the UK, the UAE, Turkey, the US, Serbia, Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey, Qatar, and Albania.
Traveling to Malta from the aforementioned countries with a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate means that you won’t have to undergo quarantine upon arrival – provided that the country you’re traveling from hasn’t been classified as ‘dark red’.
Malta’s list of ‘dark red’ countries is made up of 155 different nations including, amongst others, Mexico, Venezuela, Pakistan, and Haiti.
