Recently, Pierre Farrugia, local vlogger, took his viewers on an interesting hike, a day following his birthday, unravelling the charm of Siggiewi, Malta, meticulously following the route outlined in the book ‘Country Walks in Malta.’

Embarking on a 9-kilometer loop, Pierre’s adventure unfolded against the backdrop of scenic country roads. The starting point, the Church of Siggiewi, set the tone for the exploration, with the countryside revealing its allure as the local vlogger ventured along the designated pathway.

As the adventurer navigated the trail, he shared glimpses of the serene Siggiewi square and ventured towards Fawwara, a region known for its breathtaking views and the iconic Laferla Cross (is-Salib tal-Għolja).

Pierre also highlighted to his viewers that the initial 3 kilometres presented a flat and accessible terrain, making the hike suitable for enthusiasts of various skill levels.

En route, the local vlogger encountered the rugged beauty of prickly pears, a common sight along the loop around Siggiewi.

The vlogger's narrative unfolded seamlessly as he headed to the Chapel of Providence, a significant landmark along the journey. Having previously passed through during the Camino Maltes, Pierre shared the chapel's historical significance, including its unique covered exterior, spanning the size of the entire church.

Continuing on the path of the Camino Maltese, Farrugia reached the Chapel of San Niklaw. Noteworthy encounters included a historical pillbox and the revelation of the San Niklaw water reservoir, a massive and impressive structure seldom seen by many.

The vlog documented Pierre's final stretch toward Hal-Xluq, where the chapel that goes by that name provided a serene backdrop for a brief respite. The route showcased amazing panoramic views, with the landscape echoing the harmony of nature and civilization.

The last kilometre led the now hungry vlogger, back to the Siggiewi parish church, completing the circular journey.

Thank you, Pierre for capturing the essence of Siggiewi through this 9km hike!
