The 4th Pawlu Mizzi Memorial Lecture at Il-Ħaġar on Saturday 15th November at 11:00 will explore the important role photography played in documenting Gozo’s cultural history. Dr Charles Paul Azzopardi, a physician and respected photo-historian, will discuss how early photographers captured everyday life, traditions, and landscapes that have since disappeared, helping preserve the island’s collective memory.
This annual lecture honours Pawlu Mizzi (1929–2019), the renowned Gozitan scholar, educator, and publisher who championed Maltese literature and culture. Organized in collaboration with Midsea Books Ltd, the event is free to attend, though seating reservations are recommended.
