It’s finally back! After a 12-year absence, Air Malta is flying back to Eygpt’s sprawling capital, Cairo. *Casually checks bank balance to plan a trip*
The local airline has started operating a twice weekly service every Thursday and Sunday from our islands as of yesterday, and will continue operating throughout winter. Flights from Cairo will be operating on a Friday and Monday.

“In our first year of operations we are planning to carry 25,000 passengers,” Air Malta’s CEP Clifford Chetcuti said at the flight’s inauguration. “After a successful re-introduction of similar services to Tunis and Morocco, we are starting with a twice weekly flight throughout winter. Plans are also in hand to increase to a three weekly next summer.”
The flight schedule will be as follows:
1. KM 710 will leave from Malta at 11.40pm and lands in Cairo at 2.15am on Thursdays and Sundays
2. KM 711 will leave from Cairo at 3.15am and arrives in Malta at 6.20am on Fridays and Mondays
Easy enough, right? Here’s to jetting off to more countries!
