Did you know? The city of London celebrates the ‘Bambina’ feast in the traditional Maltese way
They even do a procession with the statue!

A Maltese man who lived in Britain for a long time, John C. Navarro, has taken to his social media to share what was a special day for him. This when he got to witness the traditional Maltese ‘Bambina’ feast celebrated in the same way it is in Malta but in London.

Just like Malta the feast takes place in September but instead of seeing it in a typical Maltese village, you get to see the feast in the grand city of London.

The photos John shared were taken in 2003 but the feast has been taking place since the year 2000 and is organised by the High Commissioner

This grand activity has taken place every year since and is organised by the Maltese Culture Movement (UK).

The day starts off with a mass at London’s Westminster Cathedral where many Maltese living in the UK travel both from and outside London to attend.

Mass is then followed by a procession around the city of London’s very own statue of the Bambina where a traditional Maltese band plays along.

A market is also set up where Maltese expats can get a taste of home and buy some traditional Maltese foods and drinks.
