Congratulations! Neil Agius breaks his own record, surpassing 125.7km in his swim around Malta and Gozo
The wind and rain battering the islands present a massive challenge to the swimmer
Despite challenging conditions threatening his 160km swim, Neil Agius and his team are pushing through. He has just broken his own record for the longest assisted swim, previously set at 125.7 kilometers in 52 hours, when he crossed from the Sicilian island of Linosa to Malta.
Neil has now surpassed the 125.7km and 52-hour mark in his current swim around Malta and Gozo. According to his team, he has entered “the hardest part” of the journey, facing tougher challenges than the cold nighttime temperatures he endured earlier. The rain and wind are making it difficult for him to maintain his pace, while also posing challenges for his team in tracking and feeding him during this epic endeavor.
Wishing Neil all the courage and the best of luck in the rest of his swim!
