Celebrate the season! Citrus Festival to bloom at San Anton Palace Garden this Sunday
A family event paying tribute to the popular winter fruit!

Lyndsey Grima

Although the seasonal festivities are winding down, winter brings about other things to celebrate, namely the citrus fruits that grow around the island! That’s where the annual Citrus Festival (or Festa Ċitru) comes in, when San Anton Palace and Gardens in Attard transform into a haven for all things citrus!

The event will open at 9 AM for the early risers, and will continue throughout the day till late afternoon, taking place in the garden within the walls of the Palace of San Anton, which is usually closed to the public.

This year’s edition promises an even greater variety of citrus-themed experiences. In addition to the usual offerings of fresh fruits and citrus-based products made in the Palace kitchen, visitors will be treated to a variety of entertainment, typical local food, and artisanal products, immersing everyone in the island’s cultural heritage from all aspects.

This year, Festa Ċitru will offer a unique opportunity for visiting families to also explore the halls of San Anton Palace, the official residence of the President of Malta.

Throughout the day, until early afternoon, those attending Festa Ċitru will be able to join guided tours around San Anton Palace, where they will receive historical information about the Palace and the work carried out from within it.

Will you be joining for a day of citrus delights?
