Celebrate 105 years of music! Malta Police Philharmonic Band performs funeral marches for Easter this April
Mark your calendars!

Francesca Vella

As Holy Week approaches, Heritage Malta will be hosting an evening of music on Saturday 12th April – just a day before Holy Week begins. The Malta Police Philharmonic Band will present a solemn concert of funeral marches, accompanied by their talented singers. This performance will take place at the historic Grand Master’s Palace Stables in Valletta, with entrance through Merchants Street, starting at 8 PM.

This year, the concert holds even greater significance, as it marks the 105th anniversary of the Malta Police Philharmonic Band – the country’s very first national band, founded in 1920.

Tickets for the concert are available for €10 and can be purchased online via the Heritage Malta website here, or directly from any Heritage Malta museum or site.

If you’re looking for a way to immerse yourself in the spirit of Holy Week, or simply wish to experience some local traditions with the enchanting backdrop of the Grand Master’s Palace, this might just be the event for you!

Have you ever heard the Malta Police Philharmonic Band perform?

2nd April 2025
