The classic front
Malta’s full of beautiful old shop fronts, usually carrying a specific style and image. The typical ‘in-your-face’ signage captures your attention and let’s you know you’ve found what you’re looking for.
The obscure name
Strait Street is full of awesome signage, some peculiar, some a little weird and others absolutely Insta-worthy. You can only wonder what went on behind closed doors in some of these shops and bars back in the day!
The diamond in the rough
Most shops on the Sliema and Valletta high-streets are newly renovated, fully decked out with glass windows, flashy spotlights and other modern influences. But some shop owners appreciate their roots and stick to the original facades for as long as possible, and we love that!
The hidden treasure
Candy shops in particular have a magnetic pull to all sweet lovers out there, and this one in Valletta is no different. Highly recognisable by its bold colours, vibrant signage and of course a spot of advertising to really lead the way.
The sadly abandoned
Walking through many of Malta and Gozo's older streets will open your eyes to a number of abandoned buildings, some of which are shops with magnificent signage and outstanding façades that are just calling out to be renovated and shine once more.
