Theatre enthusiasts, here’s some exciting news for you!
It has been announced that ‘Chicago’, the longest-running musical currently on Broadway, is coming to Malta! The original Broadway production will be touring Europe between 2024 and 2025, hitting all the major cities in more than 20 countries including Vienna and Tallinn, and will be coming to our island next year, between the 27th and 30th of March 2025 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.
Chicago tells a story filled with crime, passion and fame, and most importantly – all things jazz. It first appeared on Broadway in 1975, running over two years before closing in 1977. The current revival, playing now at the Ambassador Theatre, opened in 1996 and is still going strong. Chicago earned a whopping 6 Tony Awards in 1996, including Best Revival of a Musical.
With the catchy tunes such as ‘Razzle Dazzle’ and ‘Cell Block Tango’ by John Kander, unforgettable lyrics by Fred Ebb and iconic dance steps by the legendary choreographer Bob Fosse, ‘Chicago’ is not one to miss! Tickets are available now on the ShowsHappening website.
