Breezy start! September kicks off in Malta with a chance of storms and strong winds
Victory Day celebrations should still be safe, fingers crossed!

Francesca Vella

After a weekend of gorgeous sunny weather ringing out the meteorological summer, the first week of September will be bringing a mixed bag to the Maltese skies.

According to the Maltese Islands Weather, the week will begin with partly cloudy weather, with the cloudiness increasing until it peaks on Friday, when isolated thunderstorms are expected. The weather remains unstable till early Saturday, with possible showers in the morning, but Sunday should see the sun making a return for the celebrations of Victory Day.

The temperatures at the beginning of the week are forecast to feel just like summer, with the real feel maxing out at a whopping 38 degrees on Tuesday. However, it should cool down after the predicted storm, with the real feel diving to 31 degrees on Sunday due to strong winds rising between forces 5 and 6 on the weekend.

Despite the clouds, the UV index remains at a high of 8 on most days, so continue to lather on that sunblock especially during the sun’s peak hours.

Are you looking forward to cooler days?
