The Maltese Islands are in for a rather unsettled week, as the latest six-day weather forecast from Maltese Islands Weather predicts several bouts of thunderstorms and cloudy skies.

Following a relatively calm start to October, this week is expected to bring a mix of stormy conditions, fluctuating winds, and varying sea states, keeping us on alert for the whole week!

Today’s weather is cloudy and gloomy and Tuesday, 14th October, is also predicted to have cloudy skies and a mild temperature range between 18°C and 24°C. Rain risk remains moderate at 35%, though no rainfall is expected.

By Wednesday, 15th October, conditions will worsen as thunderstorms are forecasted in the afternoon. Temperatures will rise slightly to a maximum of 25°C, but humidity and storm activity are likely to increase, bringing between 3mm and 12mm of rain. Winds shift to the southeast at Force 2/3 to 4/5, and seas will become slight to moderate.

The stormy trend continues into Thursday morning, 16th October, with morning thunderstorms expected. Maximum temperatures will peak at 26°C, the highest of the week.

Friday, 17th October, offers a brief respite with partly cloudy skies and stable conditions. The wind will turn from west-northwest to east at Force 3/4 to 2/3, keeping seas slight and temperatures steady at 25°C. However, by Saturday, skies will once again cloud over, with a 35% risk of rain.

The weekend will conclude on a stormy note as morning thunderstorms are predicted to return on Sunday, 19th October. Winds are expected to increase to Force 4/5 to 5/6, and the sea will become moderate to rough, posing challenges for maritime activities.

Keep umbrellas handy – it's going to be a wet week!
