Be careful! Well over half of Malta and Gozo’s beaches marked as unsafe for swimming today
Not the best of news on a hot summer day.
If you were planning an after-work dip, make sure you’re visiting the right and safe beaches for a relaxing swim as well over half of Malta and Gozo’s beaches have been marked as unsafe to swim in.
According to Maltese Islands Weather only Mellieha, Mistra Bay, St. Paul's Bay, St George's Bay, Rinella Bay, Marsascala, St. Thomas Bay, Ħofriet, Marsaxlokk, Pretty Bay, Qbajjar, Ħondoq ir-Rummien, Mġarr ix-Xini, Xlendi and Dwejra’s Inland Sea are safe to swim in.
Whereas Malta Islands Weather are advising to avoid Marfa, Ramla l-Bir, Little Armier, Armier Bay, Imġiebaħ, Qawra, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, Sliema, wird iz-Zurrieq, Ghar Lapsi, Fomm ir-Riħ, Ġnejna Bay, Għajn Tuffieħa, Golden Bay, Wied il-Għasri, Xwejni Bay, Marsalforn, Ramla l-Ħamra, San Blas Bay, Daħlet Qorrot and Dwejra.
The list is based on what beaches are likely going to be free from jellyfish and rough currents.
