Arrive at Ċirkewwa early! Sold-out Singin’ in the Rain expected to cause ferry queues
Teatru Astra tells patrons travelling from Malta to plan ahead

Tomorrow evening’s opening night of Singin’ in the Rain at Teatru Astra has already sold out, and theatre-goers travelling from Malta are being urged to plan ahead.

In a notice to patrons, Teatru Astra warned that the fully booked performance is likely to lead to long queues at Ċirkewwa as audiences make their way across the channel for the show.

“Audience members are strongly urged to arrive at Ċirkewwa well in advance in order to secure boarding and are advised to catch the 6:15pm ferry at the latest to ensure timely arrival for the performance,” the theatre said.

It added that considerable traffic congestion in Gozo is also expected due to the large number of vehicles crossing over and that delays in reaching Rabat and difficulties in finding parking are likely.

Patrons are therefore urged to allow sufficient time to reach the theatre in time as latecomers will only be admitted at suitable intervals during the performance.

The theatre’s doors will open at 7:15pm and the performance is scheduled to start at 8pm.

Singin’ in the Rain, an adaptation of the classic 1952 musical, will feature Francesco Nicodeme as Don Lockwood, Dean Ellul as Cosmo Brown and Clara Sciberras as Kathy Selden.
