Experience slackline, acroyoga, dapostar, juggling, fire shows and live percussion performances at this community gathering and expo of performance arts in Malta.

The inspiration behind Circo Volante is to bring together performance artists in Malta in a single event with a view to play, forge a stronger community and expose the performing arts to the general public. It will include four shows accompanied by percussions, plus three hours of spontaneous play and free workshops.
The Circo Volante - Performance Arts Gathering & Expo will be held on 22nd April from 2pm till 8pm at the Chalet in Sliema. You can expect three 30-minute shows of slackline, dapostar and various juggling arts together at 3pm, 5pm and 7:30pm, and an AcroYoga exposition at 7pm. The shows will be accompanied by a Samba Reggae style of percussion from Brazil, and culminate with a fire show.
It's a free event, enabling the public to view from the promenade opposite the Preluna Hotel and Qui-Si-Sana. Two water lines will be set up for the slackliners to perform their tricks, and the Chalet platform will serve as the stage for the other performers and percussionists. Between shows, the public is invited to interact and learn more about how they can learn the arts on display, or request private performances. The event is a collaboration between Trakadum School of Percussion, Slackliner Malta, Mollefikus, That Fire Girl, the Dapo Family, Acroholics Jams Malta & Gozo, other performers and friends.
A little about the performance arts you'll see at Circo Volante, from the performers themselves...
"I fell in love with the slackline the first time I took my first steps. It gave me a second chance to have that feeling of when you are taking your first baby steps. I train whenever I can as it helps me clear my mind... it's one of the amazing tools to socialise. It brings you to new people from all around the world with whom you can exchange knowledge." - Christine Bezzina (Malta)
"Slackline gives me happiness, sometimes the first step is the best. I feel comfortable, focused and the smile comes naturally!" - Isaac Parra Olmedo (Spain)
"Slackline makes me feel present and focused on my next step. As it's an outdoor activity, it helps me connect with nature." - Jorge Cortizo (Brazil)
AcroYoga
"What I like about AcroYoga is that you learn to fully trust yourself and another person to achieve something you never thought you were capable of doing." - Susanne Forche (Germany)

Juggling Arts
"Juggling for me is like a meditation. Combining balance, rhythm, concentration and affinity with the instrument, juggling is born." - Marco Damante (Italy)

Dapostar
"The Dapo is like a continuation of my body even though it seems to have a life of its own. Playing with it is like a conversation, giving and taking." - Andrea Oglialoro (Italy)
Fire Show
"Fire is pure energy. Controlling it and playing with it gives a feeling that is inexplicable with words." - Mollefikus (Italy)
"Fireplay brings out the beauty in something so raw and dangerous. It's an honour to be able to control it and bend it to my own will." - That Fire Girl (Malta)

Live Percussion
"TRAKADUM tries to create bridges between different cultures through percussion. Rhythm and percussion are the most ancestral instruments to connect people, the earth and the universe." - Jose Calderon Galvez (Spain)

The public is invited to join the expo, feel the experience and learn about how they can participate and learn these arts. Any performance artists out there who are interested in joining the play for fun and community and to expose their talent are invited to contact Circo Volante on Facebook.
