Activities for the young and young-at-heart will run every weekend, throughout the month – free of charge
Valletta Waterfront is promising a lively month this October, with nautical and corsair-themed activities, all free of charge, lining the seaside promenade every Saturday and Sunday, in a series of events appropriately called October Ahoy!

Pirates will cross swords in the historic Grand Harbour; balloon modelling will keep small hands busy while face painting, puppet shows and bouncy castles will guarantee squeals of laughter. And, the almost-spring like weather on the island in October means there is more of a reason to get the young ones out and moving by the sea.

This historical and entertainment hub, situated right on the water’s edge, will also play host to music and educational games, designed to get adults playing along.

And towards the end of the month, in the afternoon and evening of Saturday 20th October, the waterfront will play host to a special showcase organised by the Armed Forces of Malta. Helicopters, army vehicles and military paraphernalia will be on display, allowing the general public to get a look inside the real workings of Malta’s troops. In a move which reflects the maritime heart of the harbour area, special focus will be given to the army’s sea operations, revealing more about its roles out on open water.

The month - and October Ahoy! - will come to a close in orange and black for Halloween during the last weekend of October and on Wednesday 31st October. There will be trick-or-treating, Halloween craft activities and spine-chilling sights along the promenade – though they may come with treats, so all may be forgiven! So, how is your family going to dress up?
