A taste of home! Maltese street food finds a spot in a market in Amsterdam
A standout dish blends South American and Mediterranean flavours, combining rucola, grilled onions, mustard aioli, and a refreshing hint of mint.

A taste of Malta is turning heads in Amsterdam, thanks to @bigboybobbito, a food stall run by Maltese entrepreneur Nigel at the bustling Ten Kate Market. What started as a craving for home has become a vibrant street food venture celebrating bold, familiar flavours with a modern twist.

Nigel, who left his office job in Malta to pursue something more fulfilling, moved to the Netherlands and followed his passion for food. ‘I love seeing the happy, smiling faces of people,’ he shared. ‘It’s been a year and a half of this, and so far, it’s been great.’

The menu features a creative fusion of Maltese and international influences. Wraps and sandwiches come packed with ingredients like Maltese sausage, chimichurri, sun-dried tomato pesto, pickled onions, and more.

A standout dish blends South American and Mediterranean flavours, combining rucola, grilled onions, mustard aioli, and a refreshing hint of mint.

To preserve the essence of Maltese cuisine, key ingredients are imported directly from Malta.

Now, @bigboybobbito is not just feeding appetites...it's feeding nostalgia, one bite at a time.
