Once again, ‘de Mondion’, the restaurant on top of the fortified city of Mdina has made it to La Liste's Top 1000 restaurants in the world.

“We are excited to announce that we have once again been placed among the prestigious Top 1000 La Liste Restaurants in the world. We are very proud to be representing the Maltese Islands”, the restaurant wrote on their social media.

“A big congratulations and thank you goes to our dedicated staff and our wonderful guests”, they continued.

The Maltese restaurant scored an impressive score of 89.00 out of 100 and it was the only restaurant from Malta that made it to the list.

According to the La Liste website, the process of making it on the list involves:

Aggregation: “Reviews of the world's top restaurants and hotels by more than 1,000 guidebooks and trusted publications are put together in a giant database”.

Standardisation: “Each review score is converted into a standard grade, ranging from 0 to 100, according to conversion tables specific to each guidebook”.

Guide grading: “Several thousands of chefs are asked to give their opinions about local guidebooks. According to the results of this poll, each guidebook is given a "trustworthiness index" ranking from 0 (not to be trusted at all) to 10 (very trustworthy)”.

Processing: “For each listed restaurant and hotel, we calculate the average of all standardised review scores, weighted by each source’s trustworthiness index”.

Customer reviews: “Finally, we integrate online customer reviews, giving them a 10% weighting in the final “La Liste score”.

Well done to de Mondion team!
