A midsummer musical evening! The Tempietto series returns to Pieta’s Villa Frere this July
Guests are invited to enjoy some classical notes in a classical garden.
If you’re looking for some music, culture and history under a summer sky, mark your calendar for Wednesday 9th July at 6:30pm, as The Tempietto Series returns to the breathtaking gardens of Villa Frere.
Now in its second edition, this elegant summer recital is a joint celebration by the Friends of Villa Frere and the Friends of the Manoel, bringing together two cultural organisations devoted to preserving and sharing Malta’s rich artistic and architectural heritage.
Taking place in the romantic setting of Villa Frere’s historic ‘Tempietto’ – one of the property’s most striking neoclassical features – this open-air concert promises a magical evening of music surrounded by terraced gardens and stone balustrades.
The recital features an exquisite trio of Maltese musicians: the soprano Althea Troisi, harpist Laetitia Troisi de Menville, and violinist Stephen Scerri.
Together, they’ll deliver a programme that flows from the ethereal impressionism of Claude Debussy to the local resonance of Charles Camilleri, taking those present on a timeless musical journey.
After the performance, guests will be invited to enjoy complimentary drinks beneath the stars, allowing some time to soak in the beautiful surroundings.
This special night is made possible with the support of Divino Wines and Spirits and Azzopardi Studio. Proceeds from the evening will go directly towards educational and restoration projects led by both the Friends of Villa Frere and the Friends of the Manoel.
Seating is limited and early booking is highly recommended. To reserve your place, contact [email protected] or [email protected]. A suggested donation of €35 is encouraged to support the ongoing efforts of both heritage organisations.
