Last night, Malta Records was invited to certify a brand-new national record in the Maltese Islands, celebrating a remarkable achievement that blends creativity, craftsmanship, and festive spirit.

The record recognises the largest Christmas tree structure ever, constructed from painted fabric, installed on a private residence in Malta.

This impressive Christmas tree stands at a towering height of 8.10 metres, with a diameter of 3.80 metres. Constructed from painted fabric and beautifully illuminated, the structure was carefully assembled on the rooftop of a private home in Mosta. Its sheer scale alone makes it a standout feature, redefining how festive decorations can transform residential spaces.

The record was officially set by Steven Grech, whose vision and dedication brought this ambitious project to life. While the size of the structure is undeniably striking, what truly sets it apart is its artistic depth. The painted fabric that forms the Christmas tree is inspired by a renowned artwork found inside the Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady in Mosta. This connection gives the structure a deeper cultural and spiritual significance, linking contemporary creativity with Malta’s rich artistic heritage.

Observers have been left mesmerised not only by the enormity of the tree, but also by the intricate beauty of its design. The combination of light, colour, and inspiration creates an atmosphere that is both festive and reverent.

Have you seen this Christmas tree in Mosta?
