The days are longer, warmer and smell of summer. The excitement is building for the things we look forward to in summer in Malta!

Summer makes me feel alive. It makes me want to smile more. There's something about it that just fits in with the joy of living, as far as I'm concerned! I can understand the pleasure of cuddling up under a blanket with a lover or a pet by a log fire on a cold winter night, but even two months of that is enough for me! Apart from that, where's the pleasure in cold, windy and wet, anyway? As cold, dark evenings are replaced by gentle rays of sunshine caressed by a cool sea breeze, these are the reasons I enjoy Malta's beautiful long summer... you can already feel it.
1. Longer days doing more of what you love
Use the extra hours of daylight to indulge in outdoor activities. Do you prefer a stroll on a seaside promenade, outdoor sport or merely grabbing a beer with friends as the sun sets?

2. Swimming after work
Replace leaving the office in the dark while pulling up the collar of your jacket with grabbing your beach bag and heading straight to the sea for a cooling off swim (before you head out for the evening).

3. Beach gatherings at sunset
Relish the cool sea breeze under a starry sky in good company doing what you love. From family BBQs to sports clubs in training, from drumming sessions to cub scout outings, join the buzz on the beach at sunset and feel alive.

4. Romantic nights by the sea
When two is the best company, prepare an easy date with a picnic dinner and a bottle of wine to spread on a rug on the beach. Add a spot of night swimming and cuddling under the stars and float dreamily away into sweet love.

5. Festa celebrations
Enjoy summer nights coming alive with a delight of fireworks displays, jolly brass bands and the unique, characteristic merry-making attached with the festa celebrations of each town around the country, in turn, every weekend, from around May to October.

6. Festivals & concerts
Be a social butterfly with an endless supply of flowers to relish. Night after night, come alive any night of the week with various arts, culture and music events.

Add fresh air and beautiful scenery to the joy of dining. Indulge in a warm and nurturing sensory experience that reminds you of the joy of living.
