Friday brings rain and more gale-force winds to Malta, but Sunday’s marathon is looking bright!
Winds should once again hit Force 8 tomorrow.

Yesterday and today have had all Malta & Gozo’s sun-lovers breathing a sigh of relief, as our much-needed orb has returned from beneath the clouds.

Brace yourself for another day of grey though, as tomorrow (Friday 20th February) is forecast to bring some isolated showers coupled with strong winds reaching – yet again – gale Force 8 by the evening. This may very well affect sea transport, so you’ll want to plan ahead if you want to be in Gozo for the weekend.

Temperatures at night will take quite a dip too, with the minimum temperature at a mild 12°C, but actually feeling like a chilly 6°C due to the wind chill! Definitely take that jacket, wherever you go.

But worry not! The weekend itself should bring brighter skies, with Saturday seeing the strong winds to calm to Force 4-5 in the afternoon, although seas are expected to remain rough till the next day. The sky should be sunny throughout the day too, with temperatures hitting a warm 17°C, although they’ll take another dip at night.

Sunday should bring a sunny sky with temperatures in the range of 10°C to 15°C with a light breeze from the North-Northwest – perfect conditions for those planning to run the Malta Marathon! A fresh breeze from the Northwest the night before will mean that no dew should fall ahead of the run, so no worries there, either.

Best of luck to all those participating on Sunday!
