5 superb cafes for remote working in Malta
Is your work location independent? There are plenty of great cafes for remote working in Malta - here are a few of our favourites.

Being a location independent remote worker means you have the luxury of choosing where to work from today. Different moods call for different environments, or it may just be that you happen to be in a certain part of the island. The good news is that there are loads of great cafés for remote work in Malta - these are my favourite cafés to work from.

1. Seaview Café, Mellieha

Few places on the island promise views like this one, or perhaps none at all. The aptly named Seaview Café is perched on a hill just behind Mellieha Church, by a tiny cemetery and a children’s playground, and overlooks the valleys and sea below. It has a cosy atmosphere with a sense of being outside in nature and a varied, budget menu. All in all, a true gem for the remote worker who doesn't want to miss a thing.

2. Apple's Eye, Golden Bay

Perched right on top of the beach of Golden Bay, the Apple’s Eye Restaurant is only open seasonally, so check the dates before you go. More of an eatery than a café, it offers plenty of indoor and outdoor space, and the staff happily welcome people showing up with laptops and taking up a table for hours on end. The obvious bonuses are a very varied menu and a swim at the beach when your day is done!

3. Yorkdale Creme Café, Naxxar

The classic café in the heart of a Maltese village, Yorkdale Creme Cafe is situated on the corner of two of the main streets of Naxxar. The incorporated bookshop and stationary, however, give it a slightly more ‘officey’ air, and attracts several remote workers with their laptops. Look out onto the busy street through the glass walls and watch the busy world go by while you’re pondering your thoughts. You can also indulge in any of the delicious food available here.

4. Costa Coffee, Marsaxlokk

Sit under a Costa Coffee parasol in the huge church square overlooking the bay dotted with fishing boats for a rich gazing space when you need to think. Retreat inside for a more secluded environment, set against the soothing sounds of tinkling coffee cups and incomprehensible chatter. Take a leisurely walk along the promenade when you need a break!

5. Gugar, Valletta

There are plenty of places with a view, but this wonderful little place with underground seating is ideal for retreating from the bustling capital city into a quiet bubble. Settle on the sofa or wooden table and chair at Gugar, nibble on vegan and vegetarian snacks and substitute that coffee for a delicious, healthy smoothie.

Now you know where to go! If you discover any other excellent spots for remote working in Malta, let us know in the comments below!
