Young stars! Maltese dancers, Airam Abela and Mia Mifsud, shine bright at World Dance Championship

Airam Abela from Qormi and Mia Mifsud from Hamrun have wrapped up an impressive journey at the World Dance Council Amateur League (WDCAL) World Championship, leaving their mark with outstanding performances.

Representing Malta, the young dancers achieved first-place titles in both the Open World Juvenile Under-12 Ballroom Championship (Restricted Syllabus) and the Open World Juvenile Under-12 Latin Championship (Restricted Syllabus).

Their achievements are a testament to their hard work and dedication, as well as the guidance of their teachers from Steps Ahead Dance Academy—Rossella Scerri De Carlo, Denzil Scerri De Carlo, Kean Scerri De Carlo, Martina Camilleri, and Lisa Marie Pace. The delegation also expressed gratitude to DSI London for sponsoring the dancers' attire, which added elegance to their award-winning performances.

In addition to their first-place wins, Airam and Mia excelled in other categories, securing sixth place in both the Open World Juvenile Under-12 Ballroom Championship and the Open World Juvenile Under-12 Latin Championship. Their diverse achievements highlight their versatility and skill in both Ballroom and Latin styles, making them proud representatives of Malta on the global stage.
