In honour of International Mother Language Day which falls on the 21st of February, on this very day last year, Heritage Malta took to social media to share with its followers a book cover of the 1902 publication 'Ħrejjef Missirijietna – Imfissra minn Patri Manuel Magri SJ'.

This historical gem showcases the richness of the Maltese language and culture. The back cover provides a fascinating glimpse into the past, featuring a list of bookstores across Malta, Gozo, and North Africa that carried this publication over a century ago.

This day is the perfect celebration to acknowledge the contributions of writers, scholars, publishers, and readers who continue to preserve and promote our beloved mother language.

Let's give a shoutout and thank all those who played a vital role in keeping our linguistic heritage vibrant and alive!
