The two sailors representing Malta, Richard Schulteis and Yoenn Bertin, have secured top place at the 49er Junior World Sailing Championships that took place in Galicia in Spain, between the 17th and 21st of July.

The Maltese duo faced the top 25 under-23 teams from all over the globe, having to navigate challenging winds and fierce competition. The runners-up were New Zealand’s Francesco Karyrouz & Hamish McLaren in second place and Simon Heindl & Conrad Jakobs from Germany in third.

Having placed second in the same championships last year, Richard Schulteis and Yoenn Bertin are showing promise in their field and seem to be a duo to keep an eye on!

Well done Team Malta!
