What a star! Maltese Olympian Katryna Esposito triumphs at the European Judo Championships
Yet another gold medal for Katryna!

Lyndsey Grima

Maltese Olympian and judo star Katryna Esposito has done it again, defending her title at the European Judo Championships for Small States of Europe and securing yet another gold medal.

Competing against some of Europe’s strongest athletes from smaller nations, Katryna’s skill, resilience, and tactical mastery led her straight to the top, where she once again claimed victory.

The young athlete proudly shared her achievement on social media, expressing heartfelt gratitude for her dedicated team and loyal supporters. She credited her coach, Frenk Aiello Maddaloni, who supported her through every stage of the competition, and ASD Mandraccio Roma, who played a key role in fine-tuning her techniques ahead of the event.

Beyond her personal triumph, Team Malta had even more reason to celebrate, as her teammates added both a gold and a bronze to the medal count. This outstanding performance showcased the rising talent within Maltese judo, proving they are a force to be reckoned with on the international stage.

Katryna is no stranger to making her country proud—she previously represented Malta in judo at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she established herself as one of the sport’s key athletes.

Congratulations to Katryna Esposito and the entire Maltese judo team for their inspiring achievements!
