Well done! The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra to perform at prestigious locations in Rome and Bologna
An exciting couple of days await the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra have been bestowed with a prestigious honour after they were invited to perform in not one but two renowned locations across Italy.
They are set to take the stage at the Auditorium Parco della Musica ‘Ennio Morricone’ in Rome on the 24th January and then the Auditorium Manzoni in Bologna on the 25th January.
“As Malta’s foremost musical institution, the orchestra continues to be a proud exponent of classical and Maltese repertoire both at home and abroad”, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra expressed.
The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Michael Laus, are set to perform Brahm’s Double Concerto for violin and cello and Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite.
But they will not only be performing pieces from foreign musicians as they are also planning on performing the works of Maltese composers. These include The Forbidden by Reuben Zahra, Mesogeios by Christopher Muscat (featuring Francesco Sultana playing traditional Maltese instruments) and Crux by Josef Bugeja.
“For the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, this tour is both a means of cultural exchange as well as an opportunity to creating lasting memories that resonate across borders”, the orchestra continued explaining.
“More importantly, it underscores the orchestra’s commitment to exporting the best of local culture through the universal language of music”.
Congratulations!
