Well done! Olympian Jake Gatt wins Malta its first medal for this year’s edition of the Special Olympics
A massive achievement!

Maltese athlete Jake Gatt has just won the silver medal for the 800metre run at this year’s Special Olympics being held in Berlin, Germany. This is Malta's first medal during these games. 

He finished in second place after completing the 800-metre race in 2 minutes and 36 seconds.

The games, which started on the 17th June, will continue till the 25th June and Team Malta is bound to bring home more medals during the remaining days of competition.

All of Malta's athletes are competing across seven different sports disciplines including table tennis, bowling, cycling, golf, bocce, swimming and athletics.
