Well done! Maltese youngsters shine with two gold medals and other record-breaking performances at FISEC Games

Malta's up-and-coming athletes proved their mettle at the FISEC Games in Dunkerque, showcasing exceptional talent and securing an impressive collection of medals. The 16 young athletes, representing Malta in the international championship for boys and girls aged 15 to 17, demonstrated the nation's growing prowess in athletics at the youth level.

Among the standout performances, two Maltese athletes claimed the coveted gold medals. Mark Azzopardi sprinted to victory in the 100m race with an impressive time of 11.27 seconds, while Isaac Bonnici exhibited tactical brilliance in the 800m event, securing the top spot. Meanwhile, Jake Vella displayed his prowess in the 200m race, securing a commendable third place and a bronze medal.

On the girls' side, Thea Parnis Coleiro emerged as a star, clinching three silver medals in the 100m, 200m, and the 4x100m relay alongside teammates Thea Shoemake, Bianca Shoemake, and Christiane Zammit. The girls' relay team also set an Under 18 category record, highlighting their extraordinary talent.
The achievements of the Maltese athletes extended beyond individual events. Collaborating as a team, Thea Shoemake, Luca Gerada, Thea Parnis Coleiro, and Isaac Bonnici stunned spectators with their exceptional performance in the Swedish Mixed Relay, setting new records not only in the Under 18 category but also at Under 20 and 23 levels.
