Katrina Micallef delivered an exceptional performance at the ILCA 4 World Championship, securing a historic bronze medal for Malta. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Malta’s sailing history, demonstrating that a sailor from a small nation can excel against competitors from larger, more established countries.

Katrina stood out in a competitive field of 150 female athletes from 45 nations. Dutch sailors Hieke Schraffordt and Feline Van Ede dominated the regatta, claiming the top two positions.

Katrina's hard work over the winter paid off, enabling her to excel despite these tough conditions, all while balancing her sailing commitments with studying for her O’ level exams.

Katrina Micallef’s participation was supported by the Maltese Olympic Committee, SportMalta, the Royal Malta Yacht Club, and the Malta Sailing Federation.

Well done, Katrina!
