Maltese driver Jesmar Gafa made history at the Coupe Intercontinentale des Amateurs, an esteemed international race that brings together 14 amateur drivers from across Europe.

Chosen by the Malta Racing Club to represent his country, Jesmar competed in this prestigious event, which was held during the special racing weekend leading up to the renowned Prix d’Amérique in France.

Racing with horse number 10, GUEPARD GRIFF, Jesmar showcased outstanding skill and determination, earning an impressive second-place finish. Despite starting from the second row behind the autostart, he strategically positioned his horse on the outside lane, maintaining a consistent pace throughout the race.

As the competition entered the final 700 metres, Jesmar launched a decisive push, urging GUEPARD GRIFF forward in a bid for the lead. A key moment came when a disqualification among the front runners boosted him into second place, securing a remarkable result.

The race saw Germany's Sarah Kube clinch victory with GIZMOGOLD, while Italy's Matteo Zaccherini took third place riding HUNADORA.

Jesmar’s achievement represents the best result ever attained by a Maltese driver in this prestigious competition.

His accomplishment not only shows his individual talent but also elevates Malta's presence on the international amateur racing scene.

Well done, Jesmar!
