Malta’s top bowler, Sue Abela, extended her stellar 2024 season by capturing her third ISBT title at the Flanders Open in Deurne, Belgium, on Sunday.

Sue’s dominance was evident from the start. She qualified in second place with an impressive score of 1,366 over six games and then soared through the semi-finals.

Her outstanding four-game series of 969 secured her the top seed for the finals, ahead of Belgium's Linda Van Kerckhove, Vanessa Vissenberg, and Veronique Perniaux.

The finals pitted the top six female bowlers in head-to-head matches, with an additional 20 bonus points awarded for each victory. Sue delivered an unstoppable performance, winning every match to clinch the championship. Inge Hazeleger of the Netherlands finished in second, with Germany’s Martina Beckel taking third place.

This victory caps off a remarkable 2024 ISBT season for Sue, underscoring her status as one of the circuit’s elite bowlers.

Well done, Sue!
