Well done! Maltese athlete strikes gold at Jiu-Jitsu European Championships
The athlete expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to his success

Keith Galea made Malta proud this weekend by securing first place in the Male Master 4 category (73.5kg Blue Belt) at the Jiu-Jitsu European No-Gi IBJJF Championships, held in Rome, Italy.

The European No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship, organised annually by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), focuses on No-Gi competition, where athletes are prohibited from gripping their opponent's clothing, unlike in traditional Gi BJJ.

This victory marks Galea’s second major gold medal this year, following his first place win in the 77kg category at the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro Championship, also held in Rome earlier this year.

In a heartfelt social media post, the 47-year-old athlete thanked all of those who helped him achieve this success, including his coaches Denis Braidotti and Ivan Tomasetti, and his family, for supporting him through the gruelling training that took him to his success.

Well done to Keith Galea for this great achievement!
