Malta's rising squash sensation, Julian Scerri, is making a name for himself across Europe with a remarkable winning streak.

Over the weekend, Julian secured his second consecutive European title by clinching victory in the Boys’ Under-19 category at the 2024 Romanian Junior Open. His powerful performance left spectators in awe as he dominated all five matches without dropping a single game, further establishing himself as one of Malta’s most exciting young athletes.

This achievement follows his recent triumph in the Boys’ Under-17 division at the Hungarian Junior Open, just two weeks prior. Together, these back-to-back titles represent Julian's third European win, which will likely catapult his European ranking from 11th to a projected 7th in the Under-17 Boys’ category.

This performance highlights Julian’s hard-earned skills—physical endurance, precision in the short game, and a strong mental focus—refined through months of dedicated training.

He credits his success to the support of his coach, Ray Dlamini, along with the Malta Squash Association, SportMalta, the Maltese Olympic Committee, Wycliffe College, and his family.

With the season off to an incredible start, Julian Scerri is proving to be an athlete to watch as he continues to represent Malta on the international squash stage.

Congratulations, Julian!
