Beatrice Njoya, Malta's representative at Miss Universe 2024, has made history as the oldest contestant to grace the global stage of the competition at 40 years old. Her groundbreaking achievement and powerful story have captivated audiences worldwide, shining a spotlight on Malta like never before.

For the first time in the pageant's history, Malta was honoured with a dedicated feature during the live broadcast of the 73rd Miss Universe competition.

The segment celebrated Beatrice’s remarkable journey, emphasising her resilience and the diverse representation she brings to the pageant. Millions tuned in to witness the moving tribute, a proud moment for Malta on the international stage.

Miss Universe Malta expressed its excitement on social media, sharing, ‘MALTA 🇲🇹 has been recognised, out of 126 countries, for the powerful story of @beatrice_njoya with a full clip aired live during the 73rd Miss Universe competition. This is the first time in history to dedicate a full clip for Malta.’

Although the coveted Miss Universe crown was won by Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark, Beatrice’s impact resonated deeply. Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip, CEO of Miss Universe, applauded the diversity and inspiration Beatrice brought to the competition, noting how her story serves as a beacon of hope and empowerment for women globally.

Miss Universe Malta praised Beatrice as a role model, stating, “Well done Beatrice. You already wear your own invisible crown for being such an incredible woman.”
