WATCH: Video shows what the St Paul’s Bay ‘Hannini’ ship diving site looked like in 1993 vs in 2023
A 30-year difference!

A video uploaded to social media by one of Malta’s most experienced divers, Raniero Borg shows what one of Malta’s lesser-known dive sites looks like today, compared to when it was first sunk in 1993.

The ship, which was once used for tourist tours was sunk on purpose with the aim of increasing wildlife in the area. It was also sunk with the purpose of being used as a diving site for scuba divers.

Raniero was there when the ship was being sunk and he filmed the whole thing, all the way back in 1993. Now in 2023, he went down again to see how the wreck looks like today.

Nowadays, the wreck is pretty much almost part of the seabed as it is covered in moss and all kinds of marine flora.

The video shows all kinds of fish swimming around it and Raniero even spotted an octopus chilling next to it.

What a difference 30 years make!
