WATCH: Video of André Rieu performing ‘Xemx’ to an emotional Maltese audience goes viral on social media
A video shared to social media by André Rieu shows thousands of Maltese people emotionally singing along as the talented musician and his orchestra perform Malta’s most beloved song, Xemx.
The video, which has garnered over 265,000 views on Tik Tok and a whopping 465,000 views on Instagram, was filmed during André Rieu’s concerts at the Granaries in Floriana last weekend.
“Beautiful memories of our time in Malta. The Maltese spirit soared when André played the classic ‘Xemx’”, the caption read on his social media accounts.
The video shows how some Maltese couples were passionately singing to each other. There was not one single Maltese person in the audience who did not know the ‘The Tramps’ song word for word as it echoed through Floriana.
