Life in Malta back in the good old days is quite the intriguing topic, so when vintage photos or footage pop up on socials, it’s always a joy to see the Malta of days gone by. And this vintage video clip shows just that.
Here, Malta as it was in the 1950s is featured and while it was a beaut (and still is!) times have truly changed! Check out these cool spots around the islands back in the 1950s!
1. Parade time!
Parades are quite the thing of the past, only coming to life nowadays during special occasions.

2. The Triton Fountain
The Triton Fountain back in the good old days, being used as a bus terminus. We must say, though, it’s quite the stunner now thanks to the TLC it received earlier this year!

3. Chalet, Sliema
Take a look at Chalet in its heyday! The promenade was probably a peaceful spot in the seaside town, too.

4. Docking!
Fishermen dragging up one of their boats was quite the sight. Maybe Marsaxlokk is the place to see this nowadays, being dubbed as the island’s fishing village!

5. Little caves
There’s something about little inland caves that bring a sense of mystery and calm to Maltese bays.

6. Ta’ Pinu
Malta’s sister isle’s minor basilica was, and still is, quite the site. The peaceful surroundings of the church is the perfect spot for some quiet time.

7. Goats
Goats in the street, talking a quick stroll, was a normality back in the fifties. It would be quite a strange sight to see a herd of goats bobbing their way through Malta’s 21st century roads.
