The village shares its name with the Maltese equivalent of 'moth'

Bahrija may be one of the island's smallest villages but it boasts some of the most beautiful sights the island has to offer. The village shares its name with the Maltese equivalent of 'moth', however the reason behind this is not clear.

Situated close to Rabat, there's one other thing Bahrija is known for, and that's its restaurants - famed across the Maltese islands for their delicious rabbit stews.

One of the highest places in Malta, Bahrija has several picturesque valleys, bays and cliffs within its perimeter. See for yourself in the breathtaking one-minute video above which showcases aerial footage of the village as well as the surrounding areas.

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
