WATCH: Old footage of Malta’s yellow buses shows how cool they were back in the day
Imagine this - you’re young and carefree, waiting to head off to your next adventure with your friends on a summer’s day and finally, in the distance, you see your ride: a traditional Maltese yellow bus. Those were the days!

This video, shot on a local’s old VHSc camera back in 1999, shows what life was like back in the day, when the yellow buses were still around, and it’s pretty spectacular.

Different places around Malta are featured, including Sliema’s Tower Road leading to Balluta Bay along the promenade. Another spot in Malta seen is the Triton Fountain square that was once the bus terminus, along with the old City Gate that has since been refurbished.

Buses are also seen climbing the hill past the Portes des Bombes gate leading into Floriana, which inevitably resulted in the sardine-packed bus making a weird noise to get to the top. #Ouch
