Two young Maltese table tennis athletes, Daniel David Scicluna and Julia Bonnici, have just made their country very proud after impressing at the Transalpine Trophy Mediterranean Cup held in San Marino.

At just 10 years old the talented duo is already leaving their mark in the world. Julia was in fact the second youngest player in the whole tournament.

The competition was open for participants that were 12 or under and saw athletes from nine different countries.

They first won against the Italian teams from Trentino and Emilia Romagna where they made it out of the group phrase. However, they were eliminated in the last 16 round, finishing 16th from 25 teams.

During the Plate event, both Daniel David and Julia managed another win and made it all the way to quarter finals, losing to Latvia.

They are being coached by Mario Genovese.

Congratulations!
