Warning! Strong winds from the northwest to batter Maltese Islands this evening
The stormy weather should persist till early afternoon

Francesca Vella

If the grey skies and wet weather weren’t enough to put you off going for a swim, Maltese Islands Weather has issued a warning of strong north westerly winds coming to the islands this afternoon, reaching forces 6 to 7 by the evening.

Given that the shift in wind and wave direction will be a rapid one, it is advised that the public refrains from swimming and diving at beaches exposed to the northwest, which include Anchor Bay, Golden Bay, Ghajn Tuffieha and Gnejna.

The showers that most started their Monday morning with are forecast to persist till the early afternoon, with possible thunder at times, however the storm should clear by the evening.

Are you enjoying the change in weather?
