Unlock the secrets of Malta’s past! A day of antiquity and discovery at the Roman Villa in Rabat this Friday

Heritage Malta are organising a guided tour of the excavation areas of the ongoing Melite Civitas Romana Project at the Roman Villa (Domvs Romana) on Friday 21st June. Attendees will be able to witness archaeologists at work, learning about the fascinating historical details of their current excavations during the tour.

The Melite Civitas Romana Project is a collaborative research effort taking place between Heritage Malta, IDEX, Intercontinental Archaeology and the University of North Alabama.

There will be six guided tours in English, running every 30 minutes between 9am and midday. Those attending are recommended to wear closed, comfortable shoes for the visit to ensure safety and comfort during the tour. Each tour is limited to 20 participants, so make sure to book a place!

If you miss out on the tour, you can still visit the Roman Villa with a special reduced admission rate for this day. Opening hours will continue till 5pm, giving visitors plenty of time to explore this historic site and learn about the rich history of Malta’s Roman past.
